Meet the Principal

Welcome to Central School!

My name is Shirley Kleehammer, and I am honored to serve as the Principal of Central School. Our school is home to approximately 600 amazing fourth and fifth grade students, and it is a privilege to be part of such a dedicated learning community.

At Central School, our mission is to ensure that every student feels safe, valued, and excited to come to school each day while receiving an outstanding education. We believe that students learn best when they feel supported, connected, and challenged to reach their full potential.

This school year is especially meaningful to me, as it will be my final year as Principal before I retire at the end of the school year. While I am excited for this next chapter, I know I will greatly miss the incredible students, families, and staff who make Central School such a special place. It has truly been an honor to serve the Lemont 113A community.

This year will also serve as a transition year as our Assistant Principal, Alison Lincoln, prepares to become Central School's Principal beginning with the 2027–2028 school year. Mrs. Lincoln is an outstanding educational leader who is deeply committed to our students, staff, and families. I look forward to working alongside her throughout the year to ensure a smooth and successful transition.

A little about me—I have proudly served as an administrator in Lemont School District 113A for the past 16 years. Before becoming Principal of Central School, I spent 11 years as the Assistant Principal at Old Quarry Middle School. I live in Willowbrook with my husband, Andy, and together we enjoy spending time with our seven wonderful grandchildren. In our free time, we love traveling, fishing, and hiking.
