Supporting Our Students the Central Way

At Central School, we believe that consistency, character, and community shape the best learning environments. Our schoolwide focus on positive behavior and social-emotional learning is guided by three core principles: Be Ready, Be Responsible, and Be Respectful. These “3 Rs” are modeled, taught, and celebrated daily as students grow as learners and friends.

Through our Central House System, students earn Cardinal Cash for following these expectations, which encourages positive behavior and fosters a strong sense of school pride. House assemblies allow us to recognize achievements, build community, and celebrate our shared values. Students are active participants in this process, joining student committees, helping lead assemblies, and even greeting classmates each morning—contributing to a culture of ownership and belonging.

At Central, we’re always looking for ways to involve students and elevate their voice in our school community!

  • Central Houses
Building Character Through Community Each student belongs to a “Central House” — a character-focused team that encourages positive behavior, goal-setting, and peer encouragement. Our houses include: Creativity Empathy Perseverance Gratitude Honesty Cooperation Courage These values are integrated into daily activities and recognized regularly to inspire leadership, teamwork, and kindness.
  • Consistency Matters
We believe in a shared approach across all areas of the school community. Our commitment to a Common Vision, Common Language, and Common Practices ensures that every child feels supported, every staff member is aligned, and every family can partner confidently in their child’s success. Together, we create a culture where students are seen, supported, and celebrated—every single day.
  • Cardinal Cash
Students earn Cardinal Cash for following those school-wide expectations which are used in our Central House System.
